Before Your Same Day Surgery

Confirm with your doctor before doing any of the following.


  • Nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before surgery


  • If you take a beta blocker, you can take that the day of surgery with a sip of water


  • You do not need to do an enema or use laxatives


  • Stop NSAIDS (Motrin, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Aspirin) 7 days before your procedure. If you are on a blood thinner, this is typically stopped 1 to 7 days before surgery. PLEASE DISCUSS THIS WITH YOUR DOCTOR.
